Produced around the time of Hiroshima mon amour, this surprisingly deceptive short documents the creation of plastic materials at a polystyrene factory. The manner in which Resnais plays with traditional narrative (essentially telling the story backwards) is reminiscent of his most compelling experiments with structure, with the factory providing the surprisingly compelling backdrop.
